Norwich - a Kind City (1/4)

Over the festive period the 8th Norwich Sea Scouts; Gnaw Chocolate; Norfolk and Waveney Mind and The Feed embarked on a community lead initiative of kindness and well being over a three week period.

The 8th Norwich Sea Scouts and Gnaw Chocolate developed an initiative which would spread kindness throughout communities in Norfolk. The Scouts were tasked with completing random acts of kindness to help spread positivity during the build up to Christmas, which is a difficult period for some people.

During the initiative Norfolk and Waveney Mind sent representatives down to the scout hut to speak to the children about being kind and how doing the smallest acts can have a huge impact in their local community. Along with how a personal act of kindness can affect one person.

As a final act of kindness the Cubs and Beavers asked if Gnaw would donate a chocolate Christmas box as a present this year to families struggling for food via The Feed and their nourish programme.

The final handover of presents and the conclusion of the initiative was overseen by The Sheriff of Norwich, Caroline Jarrold. Who was blown away by some of the good acts which the children had done throughout the initiative and was so pleased to see the smiles on all the children’s faces during the presentation ceremony. A particular special thanks once again to the 8th Norwich Sea Scouts for their acts of kindness.
