General Data Protection Regulation.

The new Data Protection legislation:

At Gnaw, we tend to look on the lighter side of life, but can we be serious for moment? (Thanks).

We think that the new GDPR legalisation is great news. The new legislation means that you, our lovely customers, won’t be bombarded by messages from all and sundry, you will actually get to see our exciting Gnaw news and take advantage of our exclusive offers.

Want to keep hearing from us:

The new legislation means that you need to positively opt-in to continue to receive messages - we certainly won't just make an assumption that you do!

We like to keep things simple; re-subscribing will only take a couple of ticks… Just follow the link on any 'sign up' email or drop us an email to customerservice@gnawfolkchocolate.co.uk

We will then make sure that we keep you in the loop with all things Gnaw.

Don’t want to hear from Gnaw?

We won’t take offence. If you would like to opt-out, it couldn’t be easier, you don’t need to do anything! If we don’t hear from you, we will automatically delete your details from our database when the new legislation begins on the 25th May 2018.

The right to change your mind:

If you decided to subscribe and change your mind at a later date, that is fine with us. Just send us an email to customerservice@gnawfolkchocolate.co.uk and we will make sure you are removed from our database. You can also click ‘unsubscribe’ at the footer of any email that you have received from Gnaw.

What else are Gnaw Chocolate doing regarding GDPR?

As a business, we are committed to the new GDPR legislation; we will ensure that how we store and hold the personal data of our customers is fair and lawful. All of our staff are all fully trained and all take personal responsibility for our customers data protection.

As such, we will be revising all of our internal processes and policy documents including our:

    • Data Processing Agreement
    • Privacy Policy
    • Terms and Conditions
    • Third-party partner contracts.

    Keeping it simple:

We understand that GDPR sounds rather complex, and who has the time to read up on it all. It is with that in mind that we aim to write our policy documents and agreements in plain English and to keep our subscriber consent forms simple. Re-subscribing will only take a couple of ticks.

    External suppliers:

We have ensured that all of our service providers adhere to GDPR; it goes without saying that we will continue to do so.

Our customer database is held with MailChimp. MailChimp is certified to the E.U – U.S Privacy Shield Framework and the Swiss – U.S Privacy Shield Framework which ensures its operations are all GDPR compliant. Gnaw have updated the MailChimp Data Processing agreement and all re-subscribers will be asked to agree to their data being stored with this carefully selected third-party.

Gnaw have also signed up with MailChimp’s ‘ double opt-in’; this then sends an opt-in confirmation email to subscribers once they sign up. We have also enabled reCAPTCHA – this prevents spambots adding email addresses to our private databases.

All subscriber’s emails will include information concerning the ‘right to be forgotten’ and that they can exercise their right to unsubscribe at any time.

Our Data Protection Officer will be happy to help if you have any questions about GDPR or your personal data; he can be contacted by emailing customerservice@gnawfolkchocolate.co.uk (Please include GDPR in the email subject).
